If you’ve played at Absolute Poker more than once, you’ve probably been through at least one software upgrade, it seems nearly every time I open the software I have to wait for an upgrade, however… AP has announced a big upgrade in new Absolute Poker Version 8.0 software.

Hoping that the luck of a casino will rub off on them like that of their neighbors Macau and Singapore, an official said that Taiwan is considering wagering on casinos also to hopefully help with their tourism trade. Macau passed Las Vegas in gaming revenue last year and Singapore casinos has helped boost their property market as well so now there are plans for Taiwan to enter the casino industry as well.

The Heartland Poker Tour, while not drawing the same league of player as series like the WPT and WSOP, is definitely getting increasingly more recognition in recent days. Started by Todd Anderson and Greg Land in 2005, the tour has since grown annually. The HPT is currently watched by more than 50 million homes nation wide.

Two Colorado men have been charged with conspiracy to commit murder for allegedly trying to kill Matthew Sowash by using rattlesnakes as deadly weapons. Sowash is the owner of Amateur Poker Tour and the two men say they are owed $60,000. Amateur Poker Tour hosts Texas Hold’em-style poker games in Denver area bars.

That’s what AT&T did and is providing the new poker game service to its clients. Verizon will also be able to offer this service soon as well.

The only limit Holdem event in the FTOPS V (Full Tilt Online Poker Series) was the $200,000 guaranteed six handed event held this week. Even though limit poker tournaments do not tend to draw well, this event had 1,171 entrants and managed a prize pool of $234,200 to beat the guarantee by Full Tilt.

The World Poker Dealer Championship will now allow individuals to register themselves for the poker events only open to poker room employees. In the past, poker players had to be registered by their employers as representatives of the poker rooms where they worked for play in the annual dealers only events, played at Binions Casino in Vegas.
